[Handmade Kaga Ochoko] This sake cup (ochoko) is meticulously crafted by artisans at the famous Kaga Maki-e lacquerware studio Yoshita Kasyou Studio. The gold leaf and calico cat design beautifully complement the glass, and because each one is handmade, each one has a slightly different expression, making it a truly unique piece. The large base enhances the golden brilliance.
[Beautiful Maki-e and Kanazawa Gold Leaf] The base is made from high-quality Japanese soda glass. Though machine-made, each piece is subtly different, with a natural curl (twisted) shape, allowing your fingers to fit naturally in the indentations. Each piece is also subtly different, adding to the unique charm of each piece. The calico cat design is hand-painted using Kaga's traditional hand-painted Maki-e technique with natural lacquer, and generous application of Kanazawa gold leaf creates a luxurious finish. Suitable for both cold and hot sake.
[A gift for someone special] When you pour sake into this glass, the entire vessel will shine with gold, creating a sense of elegance for the user. It is also a popular gift for expressing gratitude to loved ones, as a birthday gift, or for someone from another country. It comes in a decorative cloth-covered box.
[Easy to clean] Just because it's lacquerware doesn't mean you have to take special care. To clean it, simply wash it with water using a soft sponge and mild detergent, just like regular tableware. *Please refrain from using it in the dishwasher or microwave.
