Changes to low beam inspection standards: Previously, vehicle inspections were based on high beam (upward), but in recent years, inspections have been changed to low beam (downward). This change is to ensure the proper beam axis and illuminance of low beams, which are commonly used during actual driving. This prevents dazzling to oncoming vehicles and pedestrians and improves safety. 2. Strengthened beam axis standards: Standards for the beam axis (light direction) have been tightened, and vehicles that do not fall within the appropriate range will not pass inspection. Stricter standards have been established, especially for vehicles equipped with new types of headlights such as LED and HID. 3. Brightness (illuminance) standards: Standards have also been established for headlight brightness (illuminance), and excessively bright or dim lights may not meet the standards. Adjustments are required to maintain the appropriate brightness. 4. Check the cut line. The upper end of the headlight's illumination range. The so-called "cut line" is also checked. This is an important point to determine whether the light is shining in the appropriate range, and if this line is out of alignment, the vehicle may not pass inspection.
