Samue is the clothing worn by Zen Buddhist monks when they perform their daily chores. This convenient workwear has been updated to fit modern lifestyles with a comfortable fit and silhouette, making it suitable for everyday wear in Japan. The shoulder lines and sleeve openings are finished to fit the body like a Western jacket, and excess fabric around the shoulders has been eliminated, creating a clean design that is easy to move in. Made from denim from Kojima, the holy land of jeans. The denim has a unique texture that improves with each wear. It is stretchy, easy to move in, and wrinkle-resistant, making it ideal for everyday wear. It is antibacterial and deodorizing, so denim, which is often not washed after each wear, can be kept clean and odor-free. The shape of the pants remains the same as the relaxed fit unique to samue, and the waist string is on the inside toward the hem, making it easy to adjust and not get in the way. There is one pocket inside the jacket, two outside, and two on the side and back of the pants. The back pocket, which was not available in traditional samue, increases convenience, and they are also suitable for use as pants alone. The elastic at the cuffs can be adjusted with buttons, so you can button up the sleeves when you want to roll them up.
The pants have elastic hems, so you can choose between tapered or straight hems depending on your preference.
