The 2nd prize winner of ‘Little Story King’, an entertainment story contest for lower grades in Biryongso, 『Udada Gongnyang Park』 has been published. Little Story King is a contest newly planned by Biryongso to discover novel fairy tales that focus only on the fun of children. A very new type of manuscript that was 'never seen before' was colluded and attracted a lot of attention from the planning stage. It can be seen as a lower grade version of Story King, which introduced Korea's first children's judge system and created bestsellers such as the 「Twenty Head Detective」 and 「Cheeky」 series. I was invited to participate in the review. As a result of adding 70% of the expert judges' score and 30% of the children's judges' score, 『Udada Kongnyang Park』, which received the greatest support from both experts and children, was selected as the 2nd winner.
"Udada Gongnyang Park" is an adventure story of Chaerin who goes to Gongnyang Park at the request of her pet cat Tofu. The existence of an imaginary amusement park that only cats can enter through a secret passage in the house stimulates imagination and interest. The story of infiltrating a place where humans are prohibited is full of tension from beginning to end. Non-literary entertaining elements such as decorating avatars, finding mazes, and first letter quizzes are naturally placed in the text to increase the sense of immersion in the story, allowing readers to immerse themselves in the story as if they were the main characters.
