With an impregnable backing including Mighty Joe Young (guitar), Stockholm Slim (piano), Ernest Johnson (bass), and Odie Payne Jr. (dr.), this is a masterpiece in which Sam explodes with lush blues vocals and guitar!
The famous song “Sweet Home Chicago”, which was also covered by Eric Clapton, became a standard in this version!
■This time, a new CD mastering the original 1967 analog stereo mix recorded by Stu Black has been realized!
The master used on the current CD was remixed for CD in 1990 under the supervision of company owner Bob Kester.
As the times change and there is a growing trend to re-evaluate analog sound, this reissue is in response to the need for ``I want to enjoy a texture that is closer to the original LP even on CD!''
■The booklet is also a new edition with unreleased photos and advertisements from the time.
