Brand Introduction
Hamilton is a watch brand founded in 1892 in Hamilton, Pennsylvania, USA. The brand gained popularity with its first pocket watch, the 'Broadway Limited,' which served as a precise tool for train timekeeping. In 1914, it became a supplier for the U.S. Army Air Service, and in 1919 began providing timing services for ski events and the U.S. Postal Service. In the 1930s, it was used by various airlines as their official watch, and in 1947 it temporarily halted civilian sales during World War II to manufacture nearly a million military watches. In 1970, it introduced the world's first digital watch, 'Pulsar,' and in 1977 became part of the Omega-TSH-Ranco group, SSIH. In 1983, it merged into SMH and is now part of the Swatch Group.
