Kurikaki was featured on the Secret Kenmin Show, Nijiiro Jean on April 25th, Tokai TV Style Plus Tokai Shigotonin Retsuden on September 21st, and on the lunch program Hirunandesu on October 17th. Gifu's finest sweets: dried persimmons with chestnut paste [Kurikaki]
Genuine chestnut kinton made from 100% chestnuts from Nakatsugawa, Gifu. We use only fresh chestnuts selected by the agricultural cooperative from chestnut farms around Nakatsugawa, Gifu! All chestnuts are peeled by hand, impurities are removed, and they are cooked with only chestnuts and sugar. Kurikaki is made by stuffing chestnut kinton into Ichida persimmons, the highest quality dried persimmons from Iida, Shinshu.
It is completely handmade by a long-established store that has been in business for over 100 years. Product size: Chestnut kinton approx. 4cm x 3.5cm x 2cm (1 piece) Chestnut persimmon approx. 4.5cm x 3.5cm x 2.5cm (1 piece) Persimmons are natural so there may be slight differences in size.
It was featured on CBC TV's Chant! on October 25, 2022. Kurikaki was featured on the lunch program Hirunandesu on October 17. More than 3 million sold out! A Gifu Nakatsugawa specialty! A real chestnut kinton made from 100% domestic chestnuts and sugar. We contract with a local agricultural cooperative to purchase fresh chestnuts before they are sold on the market, and we peel them all by hand and make them completely handmade. We do not use any additives. It was also featured on the Secret Kenmin Show as a high-end sweet from Gifu Nakatsugawa. Every day in September, we go to the agricultural cooperative's chestnut sorting facility to purchase more than 300 kilograms of chestnuts, wash the purchased chestnuts thoroughly under running water, and steam them once with 100 degree steam. Cut the steamed chestnuts in half and remove the insides. Remove the outer skin and impurities from the chestnuts that have been removed. After removing impurities, the chestnuts are placed in a large pot and cooked in a sugar syrup for 1 hour and 30 minutes. The cooked chestnuts are then cooled thoroughly and pressed into a tea towel shape to resemble a chestnut, and the dish is complete. The distinctive feature of our chestnut kinton is that it is not produced by machine, so there are many chestnut kernels, allowing you to enjoy the texture of each granular chestnut. Once you put it in your mouth, the chestnut flavor fills your mouth.
It is a simple Japanese sweet. This chestnut kinton is stuffed into the highest quality dried persimmon, Ichida persimmon from Iida, Shinshu, to create Kurikaki. The combination of the thick and soft Ichida persimmon and chestnut kinton makes for a very elegant Japanese sweet. This product was also featured on the Secret Kenmin Show as the highest quality sweet from Nakatsugawa City, Gifu Prefecture. This product will be delivered wrapped in a furoshiki cloth.
